I love my new address stamp from Vistaprint! It has been my habit to order peel-and-stick address labels for our Christmas cards. They save a lot of work, and there are some cute designs out there. The problem with peel-and-stick, though, is that you always end up with way more than you need. So far, we haven't spent Christmas in the same home twice to reuse holiday labels, and ...
I knew that I wanted to make my own invitations for my wedding, but found myself pressed for time. This kit was a wonderful solution that gave me the handmade look I wanted without the stress of trying to piece everything together myself. Michaels has a good selection of these kits in a variety of patterns and designs. Each kit includes: water-pressed paper, vellum sheets, whit...
If you live in a snowy province or state, ice-melting salt or sand is a must! No matter how well you shovel your walk and front steps, fluctuating temperatures will almost always cause ice to form. While slippy ice may just seem like an annoyance, it can be extremely dangerous. If you lose your balance while carrying something heavy, you can strain muscles, throw out your back...

"Puzzle Quest"
Puzzle Quest is a unique game because it seamlessly combines two different genres of games. While it is primarily a puzzling/strategy game, it is also backed up by a fantasy storyline like an adventure game. It also does it in a way that is equally appealing to players who play both or just one of these genres. The object of Puzzle Quest is to save the Kingdom of Etheria from an evi...
Before marrying my husband, an IT Administrator and PC gamer, I never knew what I was missing... But now I can't go back! Yes, folks, I've become a mouse snob.I started out using my husband's old Razor mouse while learning to play PC games with him. After a year of using it, a regular mouse became the most frustrating thing in the world! So when the old mouse died,...
...And busses too! I have carried my Air Canada luggage with me through all these modes of transportation on countless trips, and it has never let me down. Since I was college bound right after high school, my parents bought me this set as a graduation gift. I don't know what they paid for it at the time (seven years ago now!), but I know that they got it at Bentley, which now p...

"When Ooops Happens"
Talk about Murphy's Law. I have in-laws who often borrow my car to run errands. Usually I get a little gas money in return, but this time they decided to be nice and stopped at a gas station and filled it up themselves... and then drove away without the gas cap.I know very little about vehicle parts and maintenance, but I do know that cold winters plus no gas cap could equ...

"The Authoritative Calvin and Hobbes"
My Husband is a big fan of Calvin & Hobbes. This year for Christmas, I decided to get him another book to start filling out his collection. For anyone unfamiliar with the comic, Calvin & Hobbes is centered around a six-year-old named Calvin, and his stuffed tiger, Hobbes. (At least, he is stuffed when adults are around. When it is just Calvin, Hobbes walks and talks an...
CUBEicals are truly innovative storage. I came across them about two years ago at Walmart, and knew right away that I had to have them for our apartment. They lend themselves so easily to whatever space you have and whatever purpose you need them for.A single CUBEical is a perfectly square storage unit. The dimentions are 24" X 24" or two feet tall and two feet wide....

If you work in the IT Industry, or are a real computer geek, then you're already smiling. If you're not a geek (like I am) then you'll probably need a translation. "127.0.0.1" is a computer's "loop back" address, or, in layman's terms, "Home." There really is no place like home!My hubby is an IT Network Administrator, and...
Vector Energy Bars by Kellogs come four to a box and retail at about $4.36. This is quite a bit more than I usually spend on granola-type products, but I had a coupon, so I decided to give them a try. I must say that I have a rather neutral opinion of most health foods or vitamin-enriched products. On one hand, I'm all for eating healthy, and am particularily concerned about eat...
Because you never know what you're going to get! And just like life, you don't always like what you get. I must confess that I have never really enjoyed getting boxed chocolates as a gift, for this very reason. I like my chocolate very plain: pure chocolate, chocolate with nuts, or chocolate fudge filled chocolate. (Stick to the good stuff, I say!) It...

"Im Craaazy For Plants vs Zombies"
I never dreamed that such a ridiculous sounding game could be so fun or so addictive, but here I am, three weeks later, with my golden trophy earned, every mini-game unlocked, and a flourishing Zen Garden... I'm hooked! Simply put, Plants vs. Zombies is the best casual game I have ever played. I would give it a 6 out of 5 if I could!Plants vs. Zombies is a cute, animated c...
These markers are my "Old Faithfuls" when it comes to writing and crafting. I've had them for nearly three years now. From the picture you can see that the lables are pretty much worn out, but these markers just keeps giving and giving!I originally picked these up for scrapbooking, and constantly use them for filling out cards, card-making, decorating stationery, makin...
My husband and I are moving to another city in a little over a week. The countdown is on (T minus 8 days!), and our apartment is starting become a maze of stacked items and cardboard boxes. To seal our boxes, I had been using a tape gun I had recently bought and the original roll of tape that came with it. The tape gun has been great. The tape has not! It bar...

"No Mystery This Collection is Outstanding"
I've always been a sucker for classic novels. Even as a child, there was nothing I loved more than curling up in a patch of sunshine and getting lost in a story. The latest addition to my book collection is The Complete Sherlock Holmes from Barnes and Noble. In a single hardcover volume, you get 3 Novels and 2 Short Story Collections; in all, 695 pages of anticdotes from the dry-witted...
I have been highlighting my hair at home for several years now. Ever since high school a couple friends and I would get together, pop in a good chick flick, and do each other's hair. It was great fun to be together, it cost about 1/3 of salon prices, and I would have to say, we all looked pretty cute by the end of the day. :) Over the years I've tried a number of diffe...

About Me
Well, I was born and raised in a tiny town in Northern Ontario. Struck off to Saskatchewan for college. Spent a short time in Thailand teaching English. Moved back to Ontario where I married my best friend, and now I find myself living in Saskatchewan once again.
My passion is helping others, particularly through volunteering, relief/International aid projects, kids ministry, and just being the best friend I can be.
As for hobbies, I definitely fit the old adage "Jack of All Trades, Master of None." I dabble in sewing, needlework, crafts, cooking, baking, jewelry-making, puppetry, watercolour, and photography--but don't expect to see my work in a gallery anytime soon. =)
I owe everything that I am to Jesus, and am just so thankful to be alive!
