Automotive / Sedans / DATSUN 810
Although I no longer own this vehicle it was one of the best cars I ever have had in my life. It had a straight six engine from the Datsun 240Z. It was a very easy car to work on and had it not been for rust I would still have this car. It had about 130,000 miles on it when I decided to get rid of it. It still ran very well and had the original automatic transmission and engine and both were in top shape. I changed the engine oil regularly and was pretty good on maintaining it. It was a 1977 car and back then the Japanese cars rusted out much easier than they do today in 2008. The modern day car companies have taken steps as we all know to avoid the degree of rust that used to be common place back in the 1970s and 1980s. So far I must say that I have not had a vehicle as reliable as that one as the jury is still out on my Subaru Forester which has done pretty well overall as well. My Datsun 810 was polar white colored and later they called them 810 Maxima's and then just Maxima's. I loved that car and really hated to part with it. I just felt the amount of rust that it had inherited here living in New England would make it too difficult to hold onto.
