I am a tall person so larger cars are required for me for seating comfort. It is also the family car for hauling and larger groups. My previous SUV was a chevy Blazer but the extra purchase price is worth it. It is a much better value than its much ~10,000 higher priced cousin the Porche Cayenne. The Touareg and Cayenen share numerous parts. It has simple styling, great instrument lighting and easy to find controls. The VW gets good highway gas millage over 20 MPG and around 15 MPG in city not bad for a fullsize SUV. It has been very reliable in its first 25000 miles the only thing I replaced beyond OLF is one tire caught a nail and the front brakes. The bigest suprise was front brakes cost me $600 after shopping around.
It sounds like you got a great deal when choosing vehicles. Great review!
