I purchased this book as a joint gift for my 6 year old son and my husband. I thought it would be like the pop-up books I had as a kid that ripped when you opened the page or never folded back up after you looked at them. Boy was I wrong. The workmanship and detail that went into this book, blew me away.

Since this book is a complete Guide to the Galaxy, it covers all the Star Wars movies and every single character from those movies is somewhere in this book. The book has over 40 pop-ups in it. Each page has a huge pop-up in the center and then smaller pop-ups and pop-ups within pop-ups around the sides of each page. Look carefully and you will see special treats hidden in some of them. For instance, in the pop-up of Darth Vader, open the page slowly and you will see Darth Vaders real face. When the page is completely open, the mask will be complete and his face will be hidden just like in the movies. My son's favorite part of the book is the pop-ups of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker on the last page. When you open these and they expand, their lightsabers actually light up. It is very cool and I tried to capture it in my pictures but they do not do it justice. Each of these books is assembled by hand and are true works of art.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a Star Wars fan in their lives. It is a great reference guide to all things Star Wars and a beautiful collectable at the same time. Both my big kid and my little kid love it and read it all the time.

  • THAT is an awesome looking book! My son is a HUGE star wars fan! I mean HUGE! He has a life sized Yoda, an authentic light saber and a few other collectibles. I bet he would love this book in his collection.

  • ok, I'm buying this book for myself. My middle nephew loves Star Wars, but I am sure this is not "cool' for him right now. Maybe later in 15 years. Thanks for letting me know about this book.
