Blueprint Magazine

I recently did something that I haven’t done in many years. I unsubscribed to a magazine. The particular magazine in question is Blueprint, which is an off-shoot of Martha Stewart Living. I originally got it because I liked what it said it was about. Blueprint is supposed to be a magazine for younger people just starting out with their own places. Well, I don’t know many of us twenty-something newly minted professionals that would willingly go out and spend $145 on a felt toy basket for a friend’s baby shower (page 94, Issue 5), or $360 for an organizer (page 26, same issue). The suggestions are all over the place, some do seem reasonable, but some are simply ludicrous. They also have articles discussing hair styles and a number of different types of shoes. Editors just can’t resist can they? If I want style advice, I’ll try Glamour or Vogue. And from now on, if I want decorating advice, I definitely won’t try Blueprint. On a side note, when I made my decision to cancel the representative on the phone was very agreeable and did not hassle me at all, which is always appreciated.
