Dante's Peak was one of my favorite movies and it starred one of my favorite actors too. It starred Pierce Brosnan of Remington Steel and James Bond fame, as a scientist who studies volcanoes. He heads to this small town near a dormant volcanoe when strange things start to happen. He urges the mayor (who is played by Linda Hamilton) of the town to evacuate the town but she at first does not believe that anything is wrong. When stuff finally happens, she finally believes him. Of course, by that time, they are too late and the volcano, Dante's Peak, erupts. It is a race against time to get people to safety and for them to find shelter before the unthinkable happens.
This was a very good movie and remains one of my favorite disaster movies. I am a fan of disaster movies and every chance I get, I either watchthis movie or the many other disaster movies that are out. This is one movie that makes you think and it also helps that Pierce Brosnan is starring in it.
