I got the Pearl Forum Series Drum Set for christmas, and I have been very pleased with it. It is a perfect drumset for a beginner like me, I was a bit baffled when I first started putting it together, but it was great after I got it put together. The drum heads aren't the greatest thing, but if you tune them right, they are great. The hardware it comes with is good, and it's fairly easy to put together if you know what you are doing. The sound of it is great if and only if you have it tuned properly. I use a double bass pedal for it, and it holds up fine and sounds great with the DB pedals. The other great thing about it is that it looks great, I got mine in all black, and it is perfect for the kind of music that I play. It is also not that expensive, but if you know what to do, like tuning and construction, then you can make it worth more than you paid, a lot more. It was only around 1300 dollars including cymbals, cymbal hardware, and a 200 dollar set of double bass pedals. I highly recommend this drum set.
