Books Movies & Music / Non Fiction Books / A Million Little Pieces

There is so much controversey surrounding this book, and whether or not it is a true story or not.  The author, James Frey has admitted that parts of the book aren't exactly true.  Regardless of what parts are true and what parts aren't, the book is a great read.  I would recommend this book whether it was being sold as a memior or a fiction book because of the intimate look at recovering from addiction that is depicted in the book.  The slow growth of bonds between James and the other patients in the book gives the book a more genuine feel.  There are times when reading  James account of recovery when you are frustrated with him and there are times when you really feel for what he is going through.  When reading this book it is really irrelevant whether you view the book as fiction or non-fiction because it is a great read either way.  I highly recommend this book if you enjoy stories with characters that you can easily grow attached to and root for.  The only issue with this book is what genre it belongs in.
