Books Movies & Music / Non Fiction Books / Great, humorous look at experiencing infertility

As a woman in her thirties with friends that have gone through the heartbreak of infertility, this book caught my eye.  Waiting for Daisy: A Tale of Two Continents, Three Religions, Five Infertility Doctors, an Oscar, an Atomic Bomb, a Romantic Night, and One Woman's Quest to Become a Mother by Peggy Orenstein is an eye-opening and humorous look at one woman's journey.

The author is able to take a step back an re-tell her heartbreaking journey of trying to become a mother.  The best part is that she is able to do it with humor.  As a mother myself, I was able to relate to some of the things she tried to become pregnant as well as with the emotions she felt with each cycle as she waited to find out if she was pregnant or not.  Beyond the issues of pregnancy, infertility, and motherhood, Peggy Orenstein also deals with issues of religion, culture, relationships, and medicine.

If you have gone through infertility yourself or know someone who has, this might be an interesting read for you.  It is well-writtten, not too long (a fast read!) and interesting while being entertaining.
