Books Movies & Music / Non Fiction Books / Word Smart, By The Princeton Review

Word Smart, the third edition, is 386 pages dedicated to purely academic purposes. I bought this book two years ago, intending to improve my vocabulary and prepare for the SAT early, and it REALLY helped. In this book are eight hundred twenty-three words that you need to know to be able to "communicated effectively, be ore persuasive, get more from your reading, and score higher on the SAT and other standardized tests". I took the SAT a year later, and got 2300. The vocabulary I learned from this book really helped me expand my knowledge of words, and it was the reason I did so well on the test. And it wasn't one of those boring, pointless books that people are able to fall asleep to on the third page. This book actually was able to keep my interest for some reason, and honestly, I don't know how. It wasn't much different from other vocab books, but somehow, it was better. Anyway, I recommend it to students.
