I was recently chosen to be a bridesmaid in my college friend's wedding. To be honest, I was hoping not to be asked. Being a bridesmaid can be such a time-consuming, expensive, thankless job. It's something I really only want to do for my closest friends. Usually you end up spending hundreds of dollars on an ugly dress you will never wear again.
So imagine my joy and surprise when my friend told me her plan for the bridesmaids' dresses. She showed us the David's Bridal website and introduced to the concept of mix-and-match bridesmaids' separates.
This is genius!
We were assigned a color. In my case it was sangria, a very pretty almost burgandy color. Then we were told to get whatever we wanted. There are a variety of tops and bottoms to choose from. Some are strapless, and some are sleeveless. Actually they were all sleeveless. Why can't you find a dress with sleeves anymore? Anyway, there were options for everyone. There were even accessories available. I chose a pretty shrug to go with mine. I ended up with a dress that wasn't all that expensive and that I felt comfortable wearing. I can even wear this again to a formal wedding or to formal night on a cruise.
This is a great idea!

I don't know much about weddings and costs but it sounds like you found a way to get something bridesmades can actually enjoy during the long procession!
Yeah, you're right...Why it is hard to find dress with sleeves? Hope I could find one good design with sleeves. Thanks for sharing the idea.
