Since time immemorial, I have struggled to find jeans that fit well to my figure. I'm curvy - some call my shape a pear shape. Finding jeans that fit my waist and my bum/hips/thighs without having a gap at the waist has been my lifelong challenge. I have nearly 35 pairs of jeans in my closet and Banana Republic's Premium Contour Jeans are the perfect fit for my figure. The waistband lays flat against my body [they're a mid-to-low'ish rise] and covers my bum, hips and thighs just right. No unsightly bulges or pulling. The fabric is 98% cotton, 2% spandex so it has a bit of give but holds its shape through many wearings before washing. The Regular length, 33", is the right inseam for me to wear with a bit of a heel [I'm 5' 7"] without having to hem them. They also come in Short [31"] and Tall [35"] inseams. They have worn well; I purchased my first pair in February 2007 and they look like new [I wash them inside out to preserve the color]. Most importantly, the pocket placement is ideal - larger pockets with a bit of stitching detail to give the appearance of a more petite bum. I have other BR jeans that have smaller back pockets which are further apart. The wider pocket placement and smaller pockets do not give nearly the slimming effect that the Premium Contour Jeans provides. I can't recommend this brand and style of jeans enough.
