When my husband and I were engaged, we were both in need of new watches. We decided we wanted a matching set so we started looking around for some we could both agree upon. It was on a trip to Disney World that we found exactly what we wanted.
We were both Disney fans and love the look of Tag Heuer watches but the prices of the watches are so high. The most expensive watch I had ever owned cost $50.00. In the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney there is a section in the back of the store where they carry high end Disney jewelry and watches. Some of the items there are by famous designers that make special limited edition pieces just for Disney. There on display was a his and hers set of Tag Heuer watches that had a Mickey head on the face. There are only 615 of these watches that were made in both the men's and women's styles and each watch is numbered. We thought about the watches for the 2 days we were down at Disney but were having trouble justifying the $850.00 price tag for each watch. The last day we were there we went to see the watches again and we purchased them.
It's been almost 10 years now that I have worn this watch nearly every day and other than some dirt in the links of the band, the watch still looks brand new. I get compliments on it all the time. It is a beautiful time pieces and is now also considered a collectors item.
The features of the watch are:
- a 2 toned silver and gold linked band
- a white face with Tag Heuer logo, Mickey head and date display
- water resistant to 660 feet
- a unidirectional turning bezel
- a scratch resistant crystal
- luminous markings
- a double security clasp band
The only thing that I do not like about this watch is when it needs the battery changed. Because of the pressure seal that keeps the watch water resistant, the battery needs to be changed by someone who has been certified by Tag Heauer. The cost for this varies slightly by location but the average price is about $50.00. In 10 years I can only remember having to change them 2 or 3 times so that's not too bad.
I love my Tag and can't wait to get another one. This one has a sporty look to it and I would love to have one that is a little more dressy for special occasions.

What a great looking watch. It has some special memories for you too. I can't say I would spend that much on a watch, but that's just me. Glad you found someone to change the batteries. Wonder why it costs so much to change them?
The cost to change the batteries is high because it has to be done a certain way to insure the water tight seal, or at least that's what we have been told.
That watch looks really nice. I don't think I would ever be able pay that price for watch though. I'm cheap lol. My most expensive one was $20 I think lol. But I'm sure this is a great keepsake.

I love Tag Hauer:) Their watches are extraordinarily well made and classic. while I'm not normally fond of character watches, this one is a definite exception. It is very tastefully done.
I like the combination of gold and silver tones used in the watch.
