As with many things, a mouse is very personal. I prefer a larger contoured mouse that fits comfortably in a man's hand. The tactile response of the keys, buttons, and wheel are very high priorities for me. This mouse has all of those features and matches the requirements nicely. Where the mouse is a slight disappointment is with the programmable buttons on the side of the mouse. The default setting is the forward & back functions. It always seems to go back or forward two pages to each click, but it is intermittent. The scroll wheel has a side to side function, but this doesn't seem to work on a majority of my applications including IE7. The choices were so limited for a wired mouse, that I would choose it again given the competition.
A left handed person should look for a different mouse. This is also known as the MX-400.
I have a little creative laser mouse which fits my small hand perfectly and just does what mice do. and it does it well:) This one sounds great if you want a little more mousish function, and most importantly, know how to use them. I don't, so this one would be totally lost for me.
I do not use wired mouses any more, but agree with Demon_Buttercup, this seems a bit complicated for a mouse. I would rather have one that is simple to operate. Thanks for this information.
The benefit of a wired mouse is it is tethered to the desk if you have little critters running around.that like to pick things up.
