Apple has had a long history of making things smaller and smaller. They have done it again with the Mac Mini. They also have a history of making things pretty expensive. This time, the tradition does not continue. Instead of a large tower desktop, the Mac Mini is the size of a small lunchbox, and yet manages to pack everything you need into it, without any frills or bells and whistles. While it lacks blistering speed or a mind-blowing graphics card, it is a great tool for those who need a computer for more everyday things, like word processing and internet. It comes out of the box ready to go, and with few buttons and plugs it is quite easy for someone with limited computer knowledge to set up. It also looks quite cute, especially next to a large monitor, and takes up relatively little space, so it's great for people with aesthetics in mind. The Macintosh platform has long been a favorite of photographers, video editors, and musicians, and this desktop makes a great computer for artistic editing. And perhaps most importantly, it's priced at under $600 for the 1.66Ghz version, much less than most desktops and by far the cheapest Apple desktop. This makes a great buy for anyone in need of a good computer who doesn't need everything under the sun on it.
