Computers / Laptops / IBM T60 Thinkpad Ienovo

I work for a company that has always bought IBM computers.  I have had three computers in my 10 years there.  2 laptops and one desktop.  I have had this laptop (IMB T60 Thinkpad) for 2 years and have had a number of issues with it.  I have received the "blue screen of death" and on boot up sometimes it would freeze.  These issues only increased when I decided to add an extra 1 Gig of memory.  Also after adding the memory the screen would freeze in the middle of working.  The 1 Gig of memory was not the cheapest either.  I bought name-brand Kingston memory.  Due to the freeze-ups I have lost a lot of work.  I have since removed the memory and the freeze-ups have stopped but not the occasional blue screen and boot up freeze.

Another issues is related to the docking station.  Sometimes the laptop does not undock properly and takes a while to recover after undock/dock.  I have also had the occasional wireless network issues when docking/undocking.

Other than the problems, this computer has some decent features.  I like the screen.  I run at 1400x1050 and it looks good.  Speed is so-so, it was definitly an upgrade from my previous laptop (IBM T40 Thinkpad).  My T60 has a Intel Core 2 T5600 @ 1.83GHz.  DVD works well. 

Others in my company have also had issue with these laptops.  Many have complained about network and screen resolution issues when docking/undocking.  I would recommend staying away from the IBM T60 Laptops in general.  I think the quality issues have increased since they moved to lenovo, because I do not remember this many issues with my IBM T40. I have not had the chance to try the newer laptops, so I hope IBM has made improvements.
