We purchased this IBM Thinkpad refurbished from a company in San Antonio while we were visiting that town.  We desperately needed a laptop to keep in touch withour eBay listings while we were on the road.  We saved quite a bit of money by buying used.  I prefered an HP, but the IBM Thinkpad was a very good substitute.

This IBM Thinkpad is honestly one of the best computers I've ever used.  It rivals my HP Pavilion 716n in power and speed, and that's saying something.   Programs run quickly and smoothly despite the computer's lesser speed and memory.  It is durable, surviving minor bumps and knocks without a hitch.  The computer has a 1.3 GHz Pentium M processor, 256 MB of RAM, a 40 GB hard drive, 32 MB of video memory, a 24x CD-DVD-RW drive, an Ethernet network card, a wireless card and a Li-Ion battery.  The wireless network card has been one of the most essential features of this computer.  It has proved very useful for connecting at various Wi-Fi hotspots around our area, as well as connecting to our wireless home network.

Our IBM Thinkpad has since become my husband's computer.  Because of its portability, it is very useful for him.  He can work in the kitchen while I'm at work in the office, and he can also take the computer to work with him to write articles on his lunch hour.  He has since attached a MousePen stylus to the computer and is now using it to work on his art work. 

The IBM Thinkpad was an excellent investment for my family.  I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a high quality laptop computer.
