Uniden Dect 6.0 Cordless Phone

Our Uniden Cordless Telephone and Answering Machine is an outstanding cordless phone system that we got for an excellent price.

When we moved into our new house, our old cordless phone did not have the range to cover the main floor of our house let alone the upstairs and the basement. The sound quality was absolutely horrible and we lost calls often. We started looking around for a new set of phones at an affordable price. What my husband finally found was the Uniden cordless telephone model DECT2080-5. He purchased it refurbished from Fry's for $69.97.

This is a cordless telephone and answering machine system. It comes with 5, yes 5 handsets, the main base with answering machine and 4 charging cradles. Three are silver, one is dark blue and one is a maroon color. Having 5 handsets works great for us and allows us to have three on the main floor of our house and one both upstairs and downstairs so we are never searching or running up and down stairs to answer the phone.

The phone uses a DECT 6.0 frequency band and is 1.9 GHz. It comes with caller ID, call waiting and an intercom button that allows you to page any or all of the other handsets. Each phone has a number assigned to it so to page another phone you just enter the number of the one you want to call and that phone rings. This is great for paging my kids and not having to scream to them around the house.

The sound quality of the phone is amazing and extremely clear. I can walk all over my house and into the yard with no dropout or static. The phone system comes with several ring tones that you can choose from but we have left it on the preset one that came with it. It is pleasant and not shrill like our old phone was.

The answering machine on the phone is digital and can hold messages up to 4 minutes long. You can retrieve message from the base unit or any of the handsets. A red light on the handsets blinks to let you know you have a message waiting.

The battery life on the phone according to the manufacturer is 5 days without recharging. The longest I have gone so far is 2 and I have not had any problems.

Other features of the phone are 3 way conferencing, call transfer, mute, maxium voice security, handset speakerphone, last 10 number redial, a shared directory, they are wireless network friendly, have a handset jack, and they have a bilingual menu support in both English and Spanish.

This Uniden phone is by far the best cordless phone system we have ever owned.
