Good Entry Level Turntable Numark TT1625

The Numark TT1625 is perfect for beginner DJ's.  It's a direct drive, running on a motor instead of a belt.  It's equipped with its own Numark needle and cartridge.  It's a fairly good quality turntable if you are just getting into the DJ scene and you don't wish to spend a lot of money on your equipment.

The system is pretty durable and has lasted through some liquid spills and still operates great. Some of the drawbacks to this table however are that it doesn't have a pitch lock which means that it doesn't lock on a certain pitch.  Instead it fluctuates which makes it more difficult to keep the tracks in sync.  After almost a year of prolonged use the motor that drives the platter on this system has weakened and no longer maintains a continuous pitch but instead fluctuates, which is annoying to say the least.  It doesn't have a target light which makes it hard to read the grooves on the vinyl (record).  It also doesn't have a tone arm level.

Some good things about this unit though is that you can change the tone arm from a Straight to an "S" bend.  In comparison to other turn tables it's fairly light so is a bit more portable than others on the market. The case is made of a light plastic which is quite durable.

Overall, it's a perfect turntable for beginner DJ's due to its price and durability and this unit will definitely take a beating.  My daughter has had this unit for about a year and a half now and she's used it daily.  Her DJ requirements have grown since purchasing this however and so now she's on the hunt for something newer and more feature filled.
