4th Gen iPod Nano 8 GB

My 10 year old brother's face lit up when he unwrapped his brand new iPod nano 4th gen. The first thing I noted was the shape and build of it. It's shape is much more pleasing than the short (chubby) 3rd gen nano. The build quality is superb; it is very hard to scratch the surface and the screen. That said, I would still recommend getting a protective cover for this investment. The 8 gigs is plenty of storage for my little brother. I'm positive that Apple will release a higher storage model in one or two years due to exponential advancements in Flash Memory technology every year.

The features of the 4th gen are exponentially better than its predecessors. The video playback is smooth and clear as it can be on the small screen of the nano. The widescreen viewing is highly useful. The sound quality of the nano is superb if used with a good pair of headphones. Apple is still pairing mediocre headphones with its iPods. One of the best features of the 4th gen nano is its motion sensors like the ones its older sibling, the iPod Touch, has. It enables the superb coverflow as well as new game capabilities. The syncing is as seamless as ever with the use of iTunes. I find iTunes getting more and more bloated however. It'd be great if Apple can streamline its code in order to make iTunes more faster and efficient.

All in all, Apple has done it again. It has made a compact, well built, good-looking, feature-filled product to appeal to its fervent base.
