I have two small children which means I am constantly taking pictures. I got tired of running to Target every week to have my pictures from my digital camera printed. Not only was it bothersome but it was also quite expensive. My husband bought me an Epson PictureMate and I fell in love with it as the first picture came rolling out.
This printer is unbelievably easy to use. You can hook it straght up to your computer via usb cord or you can insert your memoery card into the appropraite slot. THe PictureMate supports several different types of media cards and sticks.
THe printer will print out 4X6 pictures. You may add borders and choose rather you would like color, sepia or black and white photos. THere is a LCD screen that will tell you step by step directions for printing your pictres. You can program the printer to print only select pictures from a memory card and to make duplicates. As far as picture quality goes you can tell the difference between these and the pictures I used to get made at Target.
The only drawback to this product is that it takes qutie a long time for the pictures to print. Infact I printed about 20 pictures today and it took a little over 30 minutes untill the task was complete.
My only worry about these printers is whether the ink will fade over time.
Well, at least when you print at home you can go about your business while they are printing. And 30 minutes for 20 pictures isn't bad when you consider the wait at the store is generally at least an hour :0)
I love the size of your printer & that it's portable with the handle!! Think of the money you're saving by printing off your own pictures!
