Cash advance or pay day loan. I admit I was a bit nervous the first time, but I found Checksmart easy to deal with. The service was courteous and confidential. The requirements are primarily that you have a valid checking account with a positive balance and that you can show a pay stub and a valid ID. They do verify your bank information and your job information. You also need a working phone, cell or home phone, either one will be fine. Expect them to call that number to verify it is working. Your first loan application will take about 20 minutes or so.

The process for a pay day loan is simple. You write them a check for the amount of the loan and the fee. Loan payback is within two weeks. You can come in person and pay off the loan in cash on the agreed upon due date. If you do not, they will send your check to the bank for payment, your choice. I was not too keen on my bank even knowing about this, so I came in to pay off in cash. 

Pros: I really liked that once your application is on file, you are given a customer card and if you need to come in for another loan down the road they will find you in the computer and you are in and out within 10 minutes. Absolutely hassle free and not at all what I had expected. I also like that they will increase your loan amount up to $500, depending on your history with them. They even gave me a $20 referral card in case I knew someone that also needed a loan.  

Cons: The $15 I was charged for my $100 loan and their outrageously high interest rates in general. However, if you should find yourself in a situation where you need a quick loan and have no credit or any other place to turn I would recommend them for their positive attitude and quick loan process.
