The Bodyblade exercise tool is not something for amateurs. This tool, which is shaped like a long thin paddle is made to provide maximum resistance for arm and core exercises.
The bodyblade is made of a sturdy, flexible material that provides heavy amounts of quick resistance. As you go to move the blade back and forth in a fast motion, it oscillates quickly and makes your target muscles work to stabilize. That is the key to this tool-stabilization. When you are focusing on co-contractions of many different muscles at once, you can focus on stabilization of that particular joint...for example, using it out in front of you while holding in a lateral motion, will cause your core muscles--abdominals specifically to tighten and work to maintain positional balance.
This tool is an excellent source of advanced rehabilitation and training, which is why it is also important to remember that it is not a tool for those without a strong base of strength and balance to begin with. This is not your grandma's exercise tool. Otherwise, it is great to use for anyone looking to up their core strengthening.

I don't think my grandma actually exercised, but I see what you mean. It should be used in a setting where there are people to help you use it correctly.
This sounds like it would be an amazing workout!
I think I need to start some kind of easy exercise program that will help me to build core strength. Time to do some research!
