I've had my wii for around 2 years and what I can say is that this console is fantastic! I was lucky enough to get it a month after it came out and all I can say is that I continue to play it. The Nintendo Wii has its ups and downs but overall its a really great console.

Pros

First of all I would just love to say that the controller is great. The motion sensor is so fun and unique. In baseball swing the wii mote like a bat. In golf swing the wii mote like a golf club. In Legend of Zelda use your wii mote as a sword. The controller is innovative which makes it really fun. This is the main pro about the Wii and the best part.

There are a huge variety of games and a lot of them are family friendly. Unlike the Ps3 or Xbox 360, a lot of the games like Mario Party 8, Wii Sports, Mario Kart and others are family friendly! This contributes to the sales because parents love to see games that are suitable for the children. And if this is turning you away teens, don't turn your back! The Wii along with family friendly games also has many action packed games like Resident Evil, and Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

Free online gameplay is also a plus for the Wii. Though its not as detailed as the ps3 or xbox 360, the feature of free online play is great for people that don't want to pay. Even though only a few games have online play like Super Smash Brothers Brawl and Mario Kart, the games that have online play are extremely fun.

Cons

Graphics are outdated I have to admit. These graphics compare to that of the ps2 and are no match for the ps3 or xbox 360. If you don't really care about graphics that much and value gameplay over graphics then this won't turn you down though if you're a graphics lover, this may be a turn down.

Nothing is free in the wii shop. Unlike the ps3, they don't have any free game demos or anything like that in the wii shop. They do have a couple of free wii channels, but those get really boring quickly.

Overall, the pros outweigh the cons and if you want fun and exciting gameplay, then go  out and get a wii because this is one of the best game systems out there right now!
