Battletoads for Gameboy

Battletoads is a game developed by Rare and Published by Tradewest. It features three toads who were anthropomorphic in nature and were made to counteract the popularity of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The toads names were Rash, Zitz and Pimple. You are guided here by Professor T. Bird. You have the Dark Queen as your main nemesis. She rules the planet Ragnarok.

In this particular adventure, you were lounging around on a leaisure world an then Rash and Pimple are kidnapped by the Dark Queen. It is up to Zitz to rescue them. You have in your arsenal punches, kicks and headbutts. You could also pick up weapons along the way. Here are the stages along with the boss characters:

Stage 1 - Sergeant Slaughter

Stage 2 - Rat Rocket

Stage 3 - The Darkling

Stage 4 - Wicked Wurm

Stage 5 - None

Stage 6 - Big Blag

Stage 7 - General Vermin

Stage 8 - None

Stage 9 - Robo Manus

The game closely follows the original NES release. The original game was hard but this one is much easier though. The good thing about the game is that there is variety. aside from the beat them up style, you also have vehicle stages where you cross obstacle race like stages. This game is fun from the concept to the graphics to the music. It may not look like today's PSP games but the fun factor cannot be denied.
