Final Fantasy XII is the newest game in the long-running hit series of RPGS from Square-Enix (Formerly Square) for the Playstation 2. The game is certainly not a return to form. Square, abandoning it's previous ways of combat in an RPG, have totally revamped the system to be very akin to their hit MMORPG Final Fantasy XI Online. The game's scale is as epic as expected for an RPG, if only cliched. Those who can forgive the usual Final Fantasy faults will still have a very deep game with lots to accomplish and a story that, as I said, is a bit cliche, is quite compelling. The graphics have taken an overhaul and the entire game is absolutely gorgeous. The soundtrack is, as on par for a Square-Enix game, a masterpiece. The Collector's Edition of the game is sold with a bonus disc with quite a lot of bonus content as well, including a very interesting short on the history of the Final Fantasy series. Overall, a worthy purchase for any RPG fan, Final Fantasy fan, or just any gamer.
