I decided to try and take care of the carpenter ants that are pretty hardy this season because of all the rain and crazy weather that we have been having here in New England. It is way to expensive to have a pest control company come in and do it as everyone wants an arm and a leg these days.
I bought a nice new sprayer and preceded to measure out the proper amount of pesticide. The thing I like about this one is that they say you can use it inside and out and they further state that its not a danger to animals or humans once it dries.
The carpenter ants always seem to like my bathroom area so I sprayed some under the walls and any openings that I could find. I did this in early July. It was pretty effective but I am going to have to do it again because of all the rain. Carpenter ants love water.
This was purchased at Lowe's for about 20 dollars. You mix it with water about one tablespoon per gallon of water. They state that it keeps termites away for up to five years in treated areas. All in all a nice product by the Ortho company.
