I finally got tired of mowing my paved driveway every weekend. So when Lowe's sent me a coupon for $10 off a $50 purchase, I added "weed killer" to my wishlist. Round-Up is probably the most well-known of the weed killers because I see their advertisements on television all the time. But Spectracide Weed & Grass Killer gave me 33% more product in the bottle for the same price as Round-Up, so for $3.97, I thought I'd give it a try.

When I got home, I started spraying anything that was green and growing in my paved driveway. Spectracide Weed and Grass Killer doesn't kill moss or maple tree saplings, but it was effective at turning everything else crispy brown that I had sprayed, including some gigantic thistles. The bottle claims that it kills weeds down to the root after 1 to 2 weeks, and that may be true, however, 3 weeks later, I have a brand new crop of weeds in my driveway that I will need to spray again. And I think the trick is going to be to spray the weeds to kill them, then shovel them all out of the cracks in my paved driveway while their roots are weak and/or dying. Then perhaps get some driveway sealant to put a more permanent end to this problem.

Although applying the Spectracide Weed & Grass Killer wasn't hard, spraying the entire driveway used up about 2/3s of the bottle and by the end, my hand was very sore from so much trigger squeezing. So I wouldn't recommend the spray bottle method unless you just have a few weeds here and there to take care of. Spectracide Weed & Grass Killer is hazardous to people and pets before it's dried, but some pets have a bad habit of eating grass, so I would keep them away from a sprayed area altogether.
