Afrin No Drip for severe congestion is very effective in my opinion and the best nose spray I have tried. It contains oxymetazoline hydrochloride. Some nose sprays I have tried contain one type of ingredient that does not work well for me but Afrin No Drip contains oxymetazoline hydrochloride which I find works best for me. The ingredient can usually be found on the bottle or the package the bottle comes in. What's nice about this product is that it comes in a pump bottle so it sprays a mist that goes on easier and more effectively. It is advertised not to drip down the nose or throat and this pump mist takes care of that problem pretty well.

You use 2 or 3 sprays in each nostril. It is advertised to last 10 to 12 hours. On me it lasted about 8 hours or so. It allowed me to get a full night sleep when I had a cold.

I should also mention that this product comes in a regular formula or a formula that contains menthol. If you do not like menthol do not get the formula that has menthol in it as it's a little overwhelming.

This product is recommended for people 6 years old and on up.

I will add that nasal sprays containing oxymetazoline hydrochloride can be found in off brands that are less expensive then Afrin.

WARNINGS: It has the usual warnings to consult with a doctor before using if you are pregnant, breast feeding, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, or trouble urinating due to an enlarged prostrate gland.
