Health / Medications / Vanish Migraine Headache Pain With Fiorinal

Looking for aremedy to aid my excrutiating pain associated with migraine headaches, my physician prescribed Fiorinal for me. I get the medicaiton at our Army hospital but I did some research and was dumbfounded when I saw that one could buy it online as it is a controlled substance.

This medication contains aspirin, butalbital, and caffeine. Aspirin is a pain reliever as well as a fever reducer. Butabital is a barbiturate that slows down your cental nervous system and causes relaxation. Caffeine helps constrict the blood vessels that contribute to such headaches.

I usually take Fiorinal when my headaches are at their worst and when I cannot take the pain anymore. It also helps to take one tablet if you get an aura (feeling that one is coming on.) Like all medications, you need to follow your doctor's advice and watch out for all the possible side effects. This medication does cause drowsiness therefore one should not drive or operate any type of machinery.

Fiorinal has been a tremendous aid in relieving the pain associated with my migraine headaches. If you suffer with such headaches and the pain, ask your doctor about Fiorinal. You will be glad you did so.
