Household / Air Conditioning / Affordable Window Unit AC

After our central air conditioner unit burned out we opted for the more affordable window units. We bought one for each bedroom. They were very easy to install and we didn't have to buy anything extra. They even came with strips of foam to fill in all the gaps to keep out air drafts. They are quite small but very effective. They have both cool and fan settings with power levels up to 10. There is also a high/low button. They can make a room extremely cold. I find that sometimes I even need a sweater in the middle of summer in Texas if I keep the unit on high at level 10. These are great for smaller rooms or bedrooms but I would opt for the larger units for larger or more open rooms such as the living room. And they are very easy to clean, you simply remove the front cover and vacuum or rinse out the reuseable filter. For under $100 these are well worth the price.
