I purchased Arm & Hammer's Odor Eliminator for my carpet downstairs in my basement. I chose the Fresh Country Breeze scent which smells clean and definitely fresh, but not for too long. I wanted something like an air freshener that would stay for a while and make my basement smell good. Our carpet is fairly new and we don't have any pets, but our lower level tends to smell musty at times. You basically spinkle this powdery product on the carpet, wait 15 minutes, and then vacuum.

This product is very easy to use that even my 8 year old son can sprinkle it on and then vacuum. The 30 ounce container lasted through four vacuums, but the good smell only lasted a day or so each time.I used it right before we would have company over so that there was no basementy smell. I think I will keep on the lookout for something that works similar, but that lasts longer.
