About 5 years ago we were lookiing for a replacement window for our ancient single pane large picture window in our living room.  It was a large 2 piece unit on the top and two small windows on the bottom that you could push open to the outside. We were having problems with the window steaming up every time I cooked on the stove. It let the cold air in and the air conditioning out!

Enter my brother and sister-in-law who just moved into a brand new condo with a large sunroom that had 3 huge picture windows.  They wanted a sliding door to a new upper patio they had built after they moved in.  They knew we were looking at new windows and asked if we would be interested in the one the building contractor was removing.  How could we pass on an offer like that!!

My husband and brother in law (builder by trade) removed the old window and installed this new one in one day.  It was almost a perfect fit and my only job was to stay out of the way and not give them any advise!  I ended up going to Home Depot and purchasing new shutters to put on either side of the window which I thought made the new window look even more amazing. 

Product Information:

This is a Norco window by Jeld Wen.  It is a double pane window with low E glass and consists of 3 sections, a stationary unit in the middle and two units on each side that can be opened to the outside for air flow.  Each one of these has a screen on the inside which you can hardly see and is easily removed for cleaning.  The window portion of each unit is 26" wide and about 65" high.  The entire unit has grids built inside the window panes which is something I've always wanted.  The outside of the window is vinyl and the inside is a beautiful oak stained wood veneer. 

The following year we put matching windows in the bedrooms to match our new picture window.  My husband built window boxes in front of these (my suggestion) and I've included a picture of these also.  Each of these windows was about $275.00 with free installation of course by my multitalented hubby and brother-in law.  This completely updated the look of the front of the house and each year we are updating a few more windows to match these.
