Household / Kitchen & Bathroom Accessories / Debbie Meyer Green Bags

I have heard of Debbie Meyer Green Bags before. One night my wife and I were watching QVC and we saw these bags. What they are are food storage bags to help your fruit and vegetables stay fresh. My wife and I kind of rolled our eyes as we have tried different food storage bags before.
We buy a lot of fruit vegetables and some of the time we have to throw it out before it gets eaten because it browns too quickly.

Well, on another day we saw these bags again on QVC. We decided to give them a try. When they arrived we had just been to the food store and had a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. We put the items in these bags and believe it or not these items were still fresh after a week. Our bananas did not have any brown spots on them. They looked just as fresh as the day we got them.

We like blueberries but we don't eat them that fast, again we just put the blueberries in these green bags and they stayed fresh until the very last one.
We do not throw away as much fruit and vegetables as we once did. It saves us money!

The bags are reusable. My wife washes them out after using and lets them air dry. They will last for quite a while.

The bags work by removing the ethylene gas which causes the fruit and vegetables to get brown.

I was not too sure about these bags when I first saw them on TV but these do work.

  2. I'm with Debbie and Bosoxy on this. I've seen them advertised on my cable channels and wanted to try them, but was hesitant about it. I'm pleased they work as promised, and am now willing to try them myself. I spend a fortune on fresh organic fruits and veggies, so this will help keep them fresher far longer.

  3. I need something like this. I always let fruit and veggies ruin.

  4. Good to hear more positive feedback about something that seems too simple to be real!

  5. This is exactly what I need! I have never heard of these before. My fruits and vegetables always go bad because I shop once a week and there are only three of us! I will have to check these out.

  11. I have never heard of these bags. They sound like a great way to preserve fruits and vegetables, especially when purchased in quantity. Thanks for the information!

  12. Thanks for the input. I, too, have seen these, but instead of trying them, I have tried the Debbie Meyer containers for storing food. They do keep the food fresher, I really like them.
