Household / Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaners / It Sucks in a Good Way

I have had my Hoover WindTunnel Self-Propelled Vacuum for about 7 years.  It is a bagless upright vacuum, with a variety of features.  It was midrange in price and received a good Consumer Reports rating when I was looking for a new vacuum.

This was my first upright vacuum cleaner.  I had a problem the first year that I owned it with hair wrapping around the rotating brush and eventually causing friction on the axle which melted part of a plastic bearing assembly.   After buying and replacing an inexpensive part,  I have been careful about monitoring and removing the hair on the spindle.   See the attached photo for information on field stripping a Hoover WindTunnel.

The vacuum is simple to operate, and the self-propelling makes vacuuming a breeze.   There are several settings for both 'Floor Type' and 'Carpet Height'.  There is an 'Embedded Dirt Finder' - this is basically a couple of lights which tell you whether dirt is still being sucked up.  The vacuum has very good power.

The dirt cannister and filter are fairly easy to remove and clean (by banging the filter on the cement outside, and washing the cannister with a hose).   There is a HEPA filter to reduce the amount of dust put into the air.

There is a hose which remains on the vacuum to easily perform most of the same functions as a cannister vacuum.  There are two extension tubes, a crevice tool, an upholstery tool, and a dusting brush.  There is a light which illuminates in front of the vacuum.   You manually wind the power cord onto retaining clips (which fall off occasionally) on the back of the unit.  It has a one year warranty.

I am quite happy with my Hoover WindTunnel Self-Propelled Vacuum.
