A few weeks before my daughter was born I decided I was going to try my hand at making homemade baby food. I decided I would ask myself again if this was something I wanted to do after she started eating mushes. I decided I was still up for the challenge. I began searching for food processors, the possibility of buying another blender, and then food mills. I looked on Amazon.com and found the Kidco food mill. We all know we can't always go by the reviews and ratings of others.

 I read almost every review that was listed at the time. I ended up deciding this was the best choice for me. So, what sold me? Part of it was a review from a grandmother who used the same brand for her own children when they were infants. She then bought an updated version for her daughter to use for her children and another one for at her house for when she babysat. That was a big selling point. A company who's been around and shows the products persevere over time. After all what can be better then a food mill that has a small carrying case that makes it easily portable and small enough to put in the diaper bag? I really do like the convenience of the food mill. It's easy to assemble and top rack dishwasher safe. The only disadvantage I found so far is once you have the top part assembled it's a little hard to get out without getting your hands a little messy. I found that if I stick a prong of a fork in one of the top holes and turn it to get it out of the lock feature that it worked really well. If any food particles are stuck I poke them out with a toothpick and toss it in the dishwasher. I'm very impressed with this Kidco food mill. What's even better is the price. I didn't order mine online like I originally was going to. I noticed that our local Burlington coat factory's baby department had the same one for the same price. I saved a few dollars shipping by buying the food mill at the store. I only paid $12.99 for mine. If you're really thrifty you can save a little more money by using a store coupon. Overall I rate this product 4 ½ out of 5 stars. If you're looking for an inexpensive way to make homemade baby food then this product is it. It's quick and efficient, doesn't take up a lot of space like food processor and defiantly doesn't cost as much as one.
