we bought the Britax martahon carseat for our daughter when she was 15 months old. This is such a fantastic carseat..it looks so comfortable I want one for myself! But more importantly Britax carseats are the highest in saftey ratings which was the most important feature of it. They are a little bit on the expensive side, however you can't put a price on safety. This carseat also accomodated children up to 65 pounds, which will help put off buying a booster seat, which are not as safe. They also come with some really cute covers for girls and boys. I would reccomend this carseat everytime someone asked me for an opinion. I will say that the Marathon model is a bit large and clunky to travel with, but there are smaller models to choose from.
