Yes, I will put my son on a leash!

This is one of the best purchases we have made for our kid. This is a super cute backpack in the shape of a puppy. The puppy’s tail acts as a leash. Now, some people may think that it’s mean to put your kid on a leash, but with a super active toddler, it’s about the only way we can let him have some freedom while we are walking in public.

The harness is adjustable, both in length (over shoulders) and width (around the waist). The package states that it’s for 18 months and up, but our baby starting walking at 9 months, so we’ve been using since then. Our son will actually go get the backpack when we are getting ready to leave…he’d rather have that on than be stuck in a stroller all day!

The backpack itself is plush and really cute. There is a little pouch in the back that closes with Velcro, just large enough to put a small toy or pacifier in. The leash/tail has a loop at the end that you can put over your wrist, leaving you with two free hands, and still in control of your child!

We do get stares, but honestly, who cares? With the Harness Buddy on, I know that my son is attached to me and (relatively) safe from someone snatching him. We can go to Disneyland and let our son run around, and yet we’re still in control of him. At 18 months and about 35 lbs, it fits my son fine. Hopefully we’ll be able to use it for another year two (and then I hope we find something similar to use on him!).

  • I wouldn't use this because i keep my eye on them always-and they know the rules when we are out.

  • I brought one of these for my son, but honestly didn't use it that often, maybe once or twice. Just found didn't really need it. But if you live in a major city or go to a theme park when you have a toddler these would be really useful.
