As a new mother committed to breastfeeding but having to go back to work, I knew I had to invest in a quality breast pump.  I did plenty of research and it came down to only a couple.  I chose the Medela Pump In Style as it is more widely available, highly rated, and was attractive to carry without shouting "I HAVE A BREAST PUMP IN HERE!" 

I did not feel it had detailed enough instructions when I began using, but I'm not sure any new pumping mom would feel they have enough instructions. I did a lot of experimenting in the beginning and eventually found the speed and vacuum settings that worked best for me.  The pump comes in an attractive black bag (there is also a backpack option) that I was not embarrassed to carry around.  It included and fit the little cooler pack, extra bottles and caps, the tubing and pumps, AC adapter, really everything I needed to get started! I love that you can pump both sides at the same time in an effort to get a session in as quickly as possible while on a break at work.

The parts were easy to keep clean.  They sell many accessories to go with the pump and have a couple convenient cleaning options (wipes and microwave sterilizing bag).

I'll be honest, I hated pumping!  But because I was committed to it, the Medela Pump In Style sure made my decision easier to execute.  I know I would not have pumped as long without a pump as efficient as this.  If you have to go back to work full time and still want your baby to eat best, the Medela Pump in Style is the pump that you can trust and rely on.
