Century Photo Pro Album- wonderful portfolio!

Share and Enjoy:
The Century Photo Pro Album is  wide enough to hold most newspapers, and there are many formats of quality vinyl pages available.  For a professional presentation of your work without spending a fortune, this is exceptional.

Century Photo has been around a long time (previously called 20th Century Plastics, but they outlived that name!).  Their quality products just keep getting better.

This is an album with a padded vinyl, leather-look cover that looks very rich.  It comes in three colors: tanned leather, black, and royal burgundy.  The one I bought is burgundy.  There are also three two-toned covers with burgundy/navy, navy/burgundy, and green/burgundy.  The album is 15 3/4 x 14 1/8 inches, and has 1 1/2 inch black O rings.  It will hold up to 50 of the vinyl insert pages, which are sold separately.

The pages come in eight different formats for various sizes and orientations of photos.  The ninth option is just one single pocket in which you can slide large papers such as magazine covers or newspaper clippings. This single pocket page will hold items up to 12 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches.  The pages start at $11.55 for 10 pages, but decrease in price if you buy more packs.  You must buy ten pages of one style, packs can not be mixed.  See all the options at Century Photo.

I’ve been using this company’s products for decades, and their photo pages hold up better than any others I’ve seen.  They are archival safe.

The full sized pages are the ones that I wanted to use.  They load from the binding edge, and this keeps papers from slipping out as easily as they might if this size page were top loading.

My biggest frustration was in finding acid-free paper to use as backing in these large pockets.  I finally had to settle for cutting down 12 x 18 inch sheets, and just having 1/2 inch of each page with no backing sheet.  However, now they offer these pockets with an acid free backing sheet.  These sell for $16.25 for a pack of ten.  I just bought some of these, and the backing sheets are bright white, cardstock.  They are very nice.  The papers are not available separately, although there must be a lot of us who would like to retrofit our album pages!

One drawback is that the size makes this album hard to store, but if you want to preserve oversized papers flat, you really have to have a large album.
