Rolling Stone Issue 1039 November 15, 2007

Share and Enjoy:

I have been a subscriber to Rolling Stone for many years.  I feel the quality in general has declined steadily in the last 5 years.  This issue celebrates its 40th Anniversary.

This is a very thick issue with a whopping 212 pages.  The main focus of the issue is many interviews with influential people in society.  It asks them questions about the future of the music business as well as the current state of the United States and the environment.

My main issue with Rolling Stone lately is that it is very biased in its politics.  A lot of attention is paid to global warming and the evils of the Bush administration.  It is no secret to me the politics of the editor in chief.  I wish the magazine would focus on music, instead of politics.

The interviews themselves are interesting about half of the time.  It bores me to read yet another interview with Al Gore and how we are all doomed.  It is refreshing to read an interview with Bono and his intelligent opinions on all things relevant.

As a subscriber I get the magazine very cheap.  I am not sure I would pay for the sometimes propaganda that is in Rolling Stone.
