LED ZEPPELIN: 'Houses Of The Holy'

Share and Enjoy:

Led Zeppelin owned a good portion of the 70's, especially after busting out this release in 1973. The band was already very successful when they released this beauty, ‘Houses of the Holy', for the spiritual rockers and flower children. This album was a favorite at the Rainbow Gatherings that generated as a result of the hippie movement.

The first title on this hit classic album/CD is, ‘The Song Remains The Same', which is still very much enjoyed today, by all generations. This song is a great introduction to this masterful delight.

Next up on the fantastic roster of classic rock songs is, ‘The Rain Song', which to me is a very beautiful, special song. I love to look at the autumn leaves outside my window, and crank up the speakers sipping my cup of coffee and letting the sun hit my face. I appreciate what this song does for my spirit.

‘Over The Hills And Far Away', continues this top quality recording and collection. The style that this band had is awesome. This next hit is a stroke of acoustic master piece, and hard rock jam. I love this piece, and it isn't one anyone could forget. This whole series of songs was grade A+. This power striker is full of exciting riff management.

The fourth track is a legendary piece called ‘The Crunge', a party house favorite and often request. Robert Plant has great vision in this one. "Has anyone seen the bridge?"

"Dancing Days', is a happy piece about love. It is a fine electric manipulation of ear candy. This waning sound is an electric guitar treat.

‘D'yer Mak'er' is next with a fabulous feeling of love also. I think this is a song that will always be an airwaves hit. "Ooh baby I love you", is a lyric delight and a whaler as this Robert Plant love song takes you to full throttle on the stereo. "Oooooooh, ya".

My favorite title is ‘No Quarter'. I bought this one for this specific bass Guitar masterpiece. I am in my own world when blasting this one, and my senses are massaged by the tremendous bass overkill. I think it is close to being this bands best song of all time! Only ‘Fool In The Rain' from the ‘In Through The Out Door' album is better. I rank this the #2 of all the songs they did, right behind ‘Fool In The Rain'.

Last on this great album, is the 8th track, 'The Ocean'. This 70's hit is a song that most people can identify with. It is probably the third best of all the bands stuff. I really dig this one.

I enjoyed playing my CD, and writing up this rock review. If you don't have any Led Zeppelin in your collection, then this is a good one to start with! I give this one,"100% Completely Perfect" as a rating

  1. Wow! Who knew that you and I would be kindred souls as far as music is concerned? LOVE this album! It's a great starter album for someone looking to get some Zeppelin music in their collection. (Pssst: I also agree that "Fool in the Rain" is Zeppelin's all-time best song.)
