Be Safe with the Powerbolt
Share and Enjoy:
Years ago when our kids were still in junior high and high school we decided to go to keyless entry as I was tired of getting called at work telling me "Mom, I can't find my keys or I lost my keys". After purchasing the first Kwikset Powerbolt keyless entry unit I would never be without it. All the door locks were replaced with these in short order. Gone are remembering to take your keys, finding lost keys, hiding keys somewhere in the yard.....it is a new freedom with the knowledge that my home is protected by a deadbolt yet easy enough for me to open with the touch of a few numbers and lock with the push of a button. I picked the shiney brass finish for the outside and the inside is a cream colored cover that actually matches the inside of my doors. The Powerbolt runs on four AA batteries which are easy to replace. When you hear your lock slowing down after inputting your code you know it's time to change the batteries. My husband had it installed in no time and it completely covered our old lock set opening in the door. All we had to do was come up with a combination of 4 to 8 numbers we could all agree on and remember as out combination. I just purchased a replacement unit after more than 10 years for the one we use the most so I am very satisfied with the reliability of this lock.

Interesting product! Thanks for all the info!
Wow... I wouldn't be able to lock myself out anymore! What a great idea... and if it lasts ten years it's a good deal for the price too. Thanks!
Sounds very interesting! Thanks for the great info.
Very interesting idea. I would think it would be so much easier not having to fumble with keys when your hands are full.
Thanks for sharing. I've been considering buying these for our home, but I wasn't sure how well they worked. I'm happy to hear that they work so well.
The reliability of this lock sounds wonderful. I think that I am going to have to check this out for sure. I like how you presented the product. Thanks for sharing your experience with the lock.
I had no idea that "keyless entry" for your house actually existed! I love this concept, quite intriguing.
I think I'd be a little worried that I'd lock myself out because my batteries died. Is there some sort of "manual override" that can be used in that event?
Yes, there's a key you can use. There is plenty of notice though with using the batteries so I don't ever carry the key with me.
I did not realize that these could be installed so easily.
Great longevity with this product. I've been considering one for our place as we have people in and out all the time, what easier way than to just punch in the code! Great idea, thanks for the info on this
sounds easy to set up
