Occidental Grand Xcaret is grand indeed!

I experienced the Occidental Grand Xcaret all-inclusive resort for seven nights on my honeymoon.  This resort is located in the Riviera Maya area of Mexico, which is just south of Cancun near Playa del Carmen.  We flew in and out of the Cancun International Airport and purchased transfers to/from the hotel. 

We chose this resort for a variety of reasons:  beauty, size, variety, and location.  The grounds of the resort are GORGEOUS.  You may stumble upon wildlife, Mayan ruins, and natural wonders.  There are trails, numerous pools, tennis courts, and other activities to keep you busy.  This resort is large and spread0out.  They do have trolleys available for transport, but I loved walking and getting that extra bit of exercise in every day.  Being an all-inclusive, all food and drinks are included in your stay.  We loved that this resort had TEN possible places to eat every day.  Some restaurants are sit down with reservations necessary.  Others are more casual and serve you on a walk-up basis.  This resort does not have room service in the general hotel rooms.  Grand Xcaret is located next to the ecological park Xcaret.  When we went, one-day passes were included with our stay.  Xcaret is a beautiful park with plenty to do and experience---it is definitely worth checking out if you are there.

I thought this was the perfect place to spend our honeymoon.  There were a few honeymoon perks like breakfast in bed one day, a flower arrangement, etc.  It just really felt like paradise and we were able to indulge in yummy drinks, good food, and lots of sunshine.
