Capital One Completely Free Checking

Capital One Bank is currently located in Texas and Louisiana.  They have a wide range of checking, savings, loans, and CDs.  I have several accounts with them, one of them the Completely Free Checking.  This checking is free of the basic fees, such as maintenance fees.  There is free online banking, free bill pay, and free debit card.  You do have to purchase your checks, but with free debit card and online bill pay, you probably won't use many checks.  If you bounce a check or use another's banks ATM, you will be charged a fee.  There are other fees, but for special services like checkbook balancing. I don't know any bank that includes absolutley everything for free.  No one will let you bounce checks and balance your checkbook for you for nothing!

With the completley free checking account, you won't earn any interest.  However, I don't expect to in a checking account with no minimum balance. 

The only disadvantage for me is the lack of branches in other states.  I don't like paying ATM fees and the only place  you can find an ATM is Lousiana and Texas.  However, what I do is go into the store and buy a pack of gum or a soft drink.  You can get cash back with your purchase and save those ATM fees.

I like Capital One and even though there is no branch in the new town I moved to, I still keep my accounts.  The closest branch is 15 miles, but for me, that is not too far.  I am however, looking forward to them opening an account in my town.
