Astro Empires is a web browser based massively multiplayer game. It is text based, no pretty graphics of space ships blowing up. If you can get past that fact however, you have a suprisingly deep and addictive game on your hands.

Astro Empires is at its heart a game that thrives on the interaction of its player community. About fifty different guilds vye for supremacy and the politics of war, peace, and defense can get very interesting. Ultimately the game comes down to who is smarter, more organized, and more devious, as superior numbers do not always mean victory.

This game has a fairly steep learning curve, but if you're willing to spend a bit of time learning the best strategies and the politics of what's going on around you, you'll end up like me, addicted to moving my text based ships around my little galaxy on missions of destruction.
