A Mighty Wind

This is another in the line of mockumentaries from Christopher Guest (others include Best in Show and Waiting for Guffman). This stars many of the usual players in his films such as Parker Posey and Fred Willard. In this film, a prominent proponent of the folk music industry has died, and a concert of has been folk musicians is being planned in his honor. There is a group that still performs regularly at amusement parks, a couple that has since split but are reconnecting in the name of music, and a trio who does more classic folk music. This film is hilarious in its depiction of folk music and its documentary format. I find this to be very rewatchable, because of the songs and the comedy laden script. Some of the jokes may be a bit too adult for younger children, but otherwise it is fairly familyfriendly.
