Waffles Made Easy

Share and Enjoy:

My boys love waffles. But they hate the frozen waffles sold in the freezer section of our local supermarket, saying they taste like cardboard. Knowing how important breakfast is in starting off a busy day, I broke down and bought a waffle iron. The little Cuisinart wafflemaker is that rare kitchen appliance that does what it states with exquisite simplicity.

It bakes perfect waffles. There are no extra features, no fancy bells and whistles here. Just a homely compact chubby waffler. When it's ready to cook, the green light pops on, when it's through cooking, a red light pops on. So easy, even a klutz like me can figure it out. The non-stick plates are highly effective in preventing your waffles from sticking or tearing. Though it makes one waffle at a time, cooking time is quick. It bakes one big round waffle, with perfect little pockets for butter and syrup to sink into. Whether you use a basic waffle recipe or go for yeast waffles, they come out golden brown and crisp, with nicely fluffed interiors.

This model has 5 settings to choose from, a limited 3 year warranty and a recipe book. The unit is small enough to store easily, or keep on your counter for quick snacks. Clean up involves a quick wipe with a damp cloth, once it has cooled down. At $29.95, this hard working little appliance will last through years of breakfasts.

  1. I really like Cuisinart products. I have found that they have a quality that I am happy with, even if it means paying a bit more for the product, although I have to say that $30 sounds like a really good price for a nice waffler.

  2. I love waffles and there is nothing like my family wandering into the kitchen on weekends smiling because they are getting homemade waffles ;)

  3. My daughter loves waffles! This would be great for us to have, I know the whole family would enjoy "real" waffles.

  4. We love waffles! Have always made our own, even freezing some to make our own toaster waffles sometimes.

  5. I haven't had waffles in a long time. Our old waffle maker quit working. It was a cheap electric one. I think I will look into this model. Thanks for sharing the information.

  6. I eat those frozen ones! Ha. and the fat free kind too which do taste just like cardboard. I would love to have one of these, but unfortunately don't have countertop space for any small appliance. And to top it off, we didn't plan much storage so we could put those type of items "just out of reach". That is one thing about the remodel I reqret the most. I would love to have one of these and see what a "real" waffle taste like.

  7. Wishing I lived next door to you so I could invite myself in for some lovely waffles! I think it's great that you have the time to do this for your sons. It will make great memories for all of you! I love freshly made waffles the best!

  10. I've yet to find a waffle maker that is really non-stick. This sounds like it works great for you.

    1. I promise you this one really is non stick. I just wipe it off with a paper towel when done and cool.

  12. I've never made or even eaten homemade waffles! For $29.95 I'm thinking this is one gadget I just have to try. I love waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, and I'm thinking homemade ones would just be heavenly!!
