Beauty and the Beast: Platinum Edition DVD is a special edition DVD that was released within the past couple of years, and has many special features, including newly remasted picture and sound, a new song that wasn't in the original version of the movie and many featurettes about the making of the movie. It tells the story of a young woman named Belle who is waiting to meet the man of her dreams, and stumble upon a castle in the woods with a wild cast of characters, most of whom are furniture or tableware. She also eventually meets the head of the house, a man who has been transformed into a beast by a wicked witch. Belle and the beast end up falling for each other, but the beast feels that there is no way that she could love him due to his outward appearance, but Belle informs him that true beauty is on the inside, and they would live happily ever after no matter what he looked like. I think this is one of my favorite Disney animated movies and it is perfect for anyone of any age that enjoys the standard Disney fairytale movie.
