Coby DVD Player A Good Basic
I was in the market for a basic DVD player to use with a TV that was also very basic. On my "Black Friday" shopping trip I happened to be at my local K-Mart, (looking for and entirely different item), and I noticed the Coby DVD player. This was just what I had in mind! An inexpensive, no-frills DVD player.
The features on the DVD player have almost all of the features you'd expect to get in some of the higher priced players. It includes Dolby Digital audio output, multi-language menu, digital zooming, parental control, jpeg picture view, plays DVD+RW, CD, CD-RW, and comes with a remote control. And to top it off, it also does a progressive scan. The downside is that it only has a composite video output, but since I was using it with a basic-style TV this wasn't an issue. The other crummy thing is the instruction manual...well, it's not really a manual, it's just a piece of paper. But it's easy enough to figure out if you've owned a DVD player prior to this.
If you're not looking for an ultra high-tech DVD player I would recommend this compact unit. It would be great for the family/bonus room, and is easy to hook up for those of us who are challenged in this area! The best part of my purchase was a mail-in rebate, so I got my player for 10.00! Definately worth the price...even at full retail.
